AAP’s Delhi MP Sanjay Singh on Saturday appealed to the mining dependents and people to stop sending goons and the mafia to parliament if they wanted their voices to be heard.

He also spoke out in support of the mining dependents and promised to find a permanent solution to the mining issue.

Singh was addressing a meeting organized for the mining dependents at Tisk, Sanvordem, while on a visit to Goa to meet the mining dependents following a request made by them during their recent protest at Jantar-Mantar in Delhi.

Undeterred by the low turnout at the meeting, which was attended by barely 25-30 mining dependents, Singh lashed out at the local politicians who stopped mining dependents from attending the meeting.

“Whenever someone tells you not to participate in some rally, agitation or meeting, remember that they want you to find a solution to your problem but want you to be under their command as their slaves. But the AAP will work to resolve the issues affecting common people, because the party is of the common people,”

Singh said.

Claiming to be aware of Goa’s mining issue, he assured to raise the issue again in Parliament after the new central government comes to power.

Stating that many parliamentarians had lost their sense of responsibility, Singh added: “There is dearth of honest people in Parliament and no one is bothered about discussing public issues affecting farmers, women, youth, traders and workers.”

“Instead they are involved in causing disruptions in Parliament on allegations, counter allegations, creating issues from non-issues, thereby wasting time which could have been used in solving public issues.”

“Every parliamentarian gets Rs 1.9 lakh of public money to address public issues but they forget that they have been elected by people to find solutions to public issues and instead enjoy all first

class facilities at public cost, concentrate on their personal interest and fill their own pockets.”

Saviours of mining dependents failed to fulfill promises, claims Gomes
QUEPEM: AAP Goa Convenor Ellvis Gomes on Saturday claimed that so-called saviours of mining dependents had failed to fulfill mining promises, but were determined to keep the mining dependents under their control.
Addressing a meeting in Sanvordem, Gomes compared the diktats of those politicians to that of the British regime, where people could not utter a word of protest.
“The same tactic is being used by some politicians to threaten those who attended the AAP meeting at Sanvordem. Many mining dependents called me to inform that they are under considerable pressure not to attend the meeting or else the politicians have threatened to sever all ties with them and that, they will not get any benefit when mining resumes.”
Gomes assured that the AAP would strive to find a solution to the mining problem in Goa, even though the mining dependents many not have been present in large numbers for
the meeting.
