It seems Goa police are confident that despite ongoing controversies, the Sunburn Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival will take place again this year.
In a crucial meeting with Chief Security Liaison Officers (CSLOs) from key installations on Thursday, Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar emphasized the need to strengthen security measures.
He also called for improvements in physical infrastructure, laying down robust security protocols, and close coordination between agencies, particularly in light of a series of key upcoming events and festivities such as Independence Day, Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, the decennial exposition of St Francis Xavier, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), WAVES and the Sunburn festival.
A press release stated that the DGP stressed the importance of upgrading the skills of security personnel, conducting regular audits, and holding periodic inter-agency meetings. Senior officers of the Goa Police were also present at the high-level meeting.
