The Goa Municipal Employees Association has threatened action if the senior officer in the Margao Municipal Council, who has been accused of sexual harassment at the workplace, is not suspended immediately.
GMEA General Secretary Anil Shirodkar informed that the members of the association will not keep quiet just because section 144 of the Cr PC is in force and demanded justice for the victim.
Saying that attempts have been made in recent times to pressurize the victim employee to compromise with the officer, Shirodkar wondered why the government has decided to remain a silent spectator by not even transferring former from the civic body.
