Gearing up to face any eventualities during the monsoon, the South Western Railway (SWR) has conducted comprehensive safety inspections and implemented necessary safety measures.
Special emphasis has been placed on the Ghat sections such as Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road in Mysuru division and Castle Rock-Kulem in Hubballi division.
Arrangements have been made to receive timely weather warning alerts.
Each and every existing vulnerable location has been reviewed and inspected and watchmen/patrolmen have been deputed.
Efforts have been made to prevent water stagnation and all other possible hazards have been identified.
Sufficient inventory of torches, diesel, cotton waste, fuses, match boxes, and detonators is being maintained.
A comprehensive inventory of sleepers, rails, and other materials is also maintained.
