The Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG), in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan Margao, will organise “Mhalgoddea Tiatristancho Bhouman” on February 27 at 3.30 pm at the Pai Tiatrist Auditorium, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. The event aims to honour artistes and recognise their contribution to Goa’s tiatr tradition.
The programme’s highlight will be the Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards 2025 (Commercial), instituted in memory of Sorgest Pai Tiatrist Joao Agostinho Fernandes. This year’s awardees are Leslie Pereira, Santano Pereira and Joaquim Lorenco Fernandes, popularly known as Jack Ferry, for their work in acting, direction, writing and music in commercial tiatr.
The Young Achievers Awards 2025, instituted in memory of Sorgest Regina Fernandes, will also be presented to Maria Swizel Afonso, Fevila Fernandes, Pierson Paulo D’Costa and Aston Soares for their dedication to tiatr at a young age.
The event will also feature the release of Edwin D’Costa’s book Kantar Kor and prize distribution to winners of the 13th Children’s Tiatr Competition organised by TAG. Nilesh Cabral will attend as chief guest and Platilda Afonso e Dias as guest of honour. TAG has invited the public to attend.
