Advising students to work hard to achieve their goals, former professor of St Xavier’s College Ravindra Fogueri said there is a huge talent in rural areas which can be tapped with good educational facilities.

He was addressing a function organised by Shree Shantadurga Sports and Cultural Club, Nanora-Bicholim in association with Vision Multispeciality Hospital, Mapusa, to felicitate meritorious students of Latambarcem ZP constituency at a function in the Shantadurga Kalangutkarin Sabhagriha at Nanora-Bicholim on Saturday.

Dr Chandrakant Shetye of Vision Hospital, Mapusa, ex-ZP member of Latambarcem constituency Sanjay Shetye and panchayat members of different panchayats in the Latambarcem ZP constituency were present on the occasion.

Fogueri lauded the efforts of Vision Hospital, Dr Shetye and Sanjay Shetye for the all-round development of students in rural areas.

“Dedication and hard work will make a big difference in the lives of rural students,” he said.

Dr Shetye assured all possible help to uplift students in rural areas in the fields of education and culture.

“The world is looking at India as a leader and the new generation must take the opportunity to be the best and lead the nation by pursuing quality education,” said Dr Shetye.

Sanjay Shetye, Shivguru Nanodkar and others also spoke on the occasion.
