Areas in and around Orulem and Belabai in Vasco have been facing acute water shortage since the last few days and residents have now threatened to agitate along with ward councillor Girish Borker if the issue is not resolved.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Borker said he had already written to the PWD to take up steps to resolve the water supply issue.
"There has been an issue with water supply for a long time but since the last few days, there is no pressure and no proper water supply, which has angered residents in the affected area.”
“During the pandemic, people are forced to stay at home and water scarcity has caused a lot of problems. Students are attending online classes at home and people are working from home. Some people have patients in their homes and as such, water scarcity is cause for concern.”
“The residents have met me and I have informed the PWD to take immediate steps, failing which the residents will be forced to agitate outside the PWD office," warned Borkar.
