----------------------------------------------- PANAJI: The sub-committee of the Town and Country Planning Board which met on Wednesday decided to drop the villages of Azossim and Mandur from the Greater Panaji after meeting the local MLA and other representatives of the villages.
The four-member sub-committee, which was formed to individually hear the grievances of the local MLA along with the sarpanches and other members of the Planning and Development Areas have decided that with regard to the villages of Azossim and Mandur they would be withdrawn from the PDA while other villages of Siridao Pale and Gancim and Batim, if included would also be withdrawn.
The Town and Country Planning Board which met on Monday decided to form a subcommittee to hear the grievances of the people protesting against the GPPDA.
The four-member committee which will be headed by Vijai also has Velim MLA Filipe Neri Rodrigues, Chief Town Planner Rajesh Naik and North Goa Planning and Development Authority R K Pandita as members.
The four-member committee is scheduled to hear the villagers of Curca, Bambolim, Telaulim panchayats next before moving on to the villages of Santa Cruz and Merces.
The sub-committee will submit its final report to the board which is scheduled to meet next on April 10.
