BICHOLIM:
A teenager from Perwada in Naveli-Sanquelim succumbed to injures at the GMC hospital on Thursday, after he was involved in a road mishap near the Vividha Higher Secondary School in Naveli.
The accident took place on Wednesday at around 5.45 pm, when a two-wheeler driven by Piyush Gawas and a truck collided with each other. Piyush was seriously injured in the mishap.
A police team from the Sanquelim police outpost rushed to the spot and shifted Piyush to the Sanquelim CHC, from where he was referred to the GMC hospital, where he breathed his last on Thursday morning.
The death of Piyush has shocked residents in Naveli village. Piyush had recently passed his SSC and had secured admission to Std 11 in the Vividha HSS, Naveli.
Bicholim police have registered a case against the truck driver Neeraj Gawas (38) of Durigwada Naveli and are conducting further investigation under the guidance of Police Inspector Vijay Rane.
