The Fatorda police on late Monday took into custody under preventive detention, three persons, including Mayur Kudchadkar, Amey Paradkar and Saifuddin Jahangar in connection with the complaint lodged by the brother of Curtorim BJP candidate Anthony Barbosa.
Fatorda PI Girendra Naik informed that the action under preventive detention was initiated following the incident that took place near the Chowgule College on Monday evening in connection with an election-related matter in the Curtorim constituency.
While Anthony’s brother Jessy had lodged a complaint against the trio on Monday evening, the BJP candidate had lodged another complaint with the police on Tuesday morning.
The BJP candidate had alleged that the trio had charged towards him near a booth at the Housing Board. He alleged that the trio had stopped his brother from proceeding near the Chowgule college.
