Light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by lightning were reported at a few places in the State on Saturday evening.
An India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa report stated that clouds had approached the talukas of Canacona, Dharbandora and Sanguem at about 4 pm and had generally moved in the Southwest direction, with Moderate cloud to ground lightning probability.
People had been advised to avoid open areas/fields, finding shelter under trees, or other tall structures while lightning occurs.
The Panaji market witnessed a storm, blowing dust and plastic bags into the air. Two-wheeler riders and pedestrians had to take cover for a short while till the dust storm subsided.
Elsewhere, heavy rain continued to pour in and around Sattari.
