Paliencar also assured to take up rain water harvesting projects through a post monsoon harvesting scheme for groundwater recharge
which will involve the construction of 410 bandhara structures in the state in a bid to allow for greater retention of rainwater.
He also promised to look into the issue of siltation of reservoirs through controlled desilting along the edges of the Selaulim reservoir after consulting with bathymetric studies and a dam safety panel. Paliencar also reiterated his government's stand that they will not allow the diversion of a single drop of water from the Mhadei basin, while Karnataka could allow the use of the water within the basin.
"Goa's stand has been to use in the basin itself and not divert outside," Paliencar said.
