Tinder date turns into alleged extortion trap at Baga villa

A 61-year-old Mumbai man has alleged that he was assaulted, threatened with being implicated in a POCSO case and extorted of Rs 95,000, gold jewellery and an expensive wristwatch at a villa in Baga, Arpora, in December last year.

The Anjuna police registered an offence based on the man's complaint, against two identified women, Chaitali Laxman Kshirsagar and Kavya Sharma and five unidentified persons.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred at around 12.30 am on December 10, 2025, at Villa Vitamin-C in Baga, Arpora.

The complainant, a resident of Vile Parle (East), Mumbai, alleged that Kshirsagar came in contact with him through the Tinder dating application and induced him to visit Goa, booking the villa for their stay.

The complainant alleged that while they were at the villa, Kshirsagar called Sharma and another unidentified woman. They allegedly attempted to undress themselves and the complainant, following which two unidentified men and another woman entered the premises.

The group allegedly threatened to implicate the complainant in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case, assaulted him and forced him into obscene acts.

They also allegedly took obscene photographs and videos of him and threatened to circulate the material to extort money and valuables.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly extorted Rs 50,000 in cash and Rs 45,000 through an online payment. They also allegedly forced the complainant to hand over a gold ring weighing approximately 20 grams, a gold chain weighing around 40 grams and a Rado watch valued at approximately Rs 70,000.

The accused allegedly fled after locking the complainant inside the villa.

Anjuna police have registered an offence under Sections 308(2), 115(2) and 127(2), read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Further investigation is in progress.
