Tivim local dies of accident injuries

MAPUSA: A pillion rider from Tivim died of injuries he had sustained in a road mishap that took place on Monday.

According to Mapusa Police, Titus Simoes from Tivim was riding his two-wheeler triple seat proceeding from Parra to Guirim at about 4.30 am on Monday. While negotiating an internal road in Guirim, he lost control and fell on the road along with the two pillion riders, causing injuries to all three. The mishap took place on September 19.

One of the pillion riders, Gopal Pujari of Madel, Tivim, who was undergoing medical treatment at Goa Medical College, Bambolim succumbed to injuries on Thursday.

The accused has been booked under Sections 279, 337, 304-A of the IPC and Sections 128 and 134 (b) of the M V Act. Mapusa Police are investigating the case.
