MARGAO
With the Trinamool Congress unveiling plans to make it big in the ensuing polls for the Goa Assembly election, the opposition Congress raised the issue of Rohingyas, saying a time will come when the Rohingyas will come and destroy Goa.
Addressing the media, Congress leader Mickky Pacheco on Sunday urged the people of Goa not to get misguided and fall prey to the machinations of Congress-turned-TMC leader Luizinho Faleiro. He said the TMC in Goa will only bring the BJP to power in the state through the backdoor.
“The Rohingya community will come to Goa along with the TMC. People of Goa should know that the time will come when the Rohingyas will come and destroy Goa,” Mickky said.
He has demanded to know why the TMC has set its eyes on Goa when as many as five states across the country are going to the polls along with Goa in 2022.
Launching a tirade against Congress-turned-TMC leader Luizinho Faleiro, Mickky demanded to know why the former Chief Minister did not speak out against the Congress leaders when he was part of the that party.
“He was the president of the Congress in 2017 and he also owes an explanation why the party could not form the government despite a mandate given by the people. He should stop pointing fingers at the Congress and stop misguiding the party workers. He did not speak against the Congress leaders when in the party, but is now making allegations against them,” Mickky said.
Saying that TMC’s entry into Goa will only cause a split in the secular vote, Mickky said Luizinho should have known that TMC’s presence will only benefit the BJP to retain power through the backdoor.
