Goan Jesuit Priest and Educationist Fr Romuald D’Souza, 94, passed on at 6 am on Friday, leaving a difficult to fill void in almost every field he was active in, but particularly in the field of management education where he earned an iconic status for himself at the national level.
He breathed his last at the Xavier Centre of Historical Research Centre, Porvorim, which incidentally he founded when heading the Goa-Pune province of the Jesuits.
He will be laid to rest after a funeral service at the Holy Family Church at Porvorim on Sunday. Aldona-born Fr D’Souza, had many feathers in his cap, but the best known to Goa and Goans is his success in establishing in 1993 one of the best known educational institution -- The Goa Institute of Management -- rated among the country’s top B-Schools. >> See pg 3
