Tourist swept away by rough waves at Goa's Baga Beach found dead

PANAJI: A 34-year-old tourist, identified as Ashpak Masali from Bijapur, was found dead after being swept away by powerful waves at Goa's Baga Beach.

A video of the incident that has gone viral on social media shows Masali sitting on rocks along the Baga coastline, seemingly unfazed as rough waves repeatedly crash around him. Moments later, a strong wave struck the rock and swept him into the turbulent sea.

Onlookers were left shocked as the incident unfolded, with the rough conditions making rescue efforts difficult. Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and carried out a search operation, but it was suspended due to high tide and worsening sea conditions. Masali’s body was later recovered from the shoreline.
