According to a reliable source, the tourists allegedly assaulted a local driver, one ‘Bappa’, over the issue of overtaking a vehicle. The locals rushed to the rescue of the driver and allegedly assaulted the tourists and damaged their car.
The driver ‘Bappa’, who sustained injuries, was admitted to GMC at Bambolim.
Meanwhile, the tourists went to the police station and filed complaint stating that they were assaulted by the locals and damaged their car.
The police sent the injured tourist to the GMC for medical check up and dispatched a police team to record the statement of the driver ‘Bappa’.
Porvorim Police refused to provide more details and stated that complaint was still not registered and that investigations were on till late night.
