Traffic diversions announced for Damodar Saptah in Vasco

Vehicular restrictions from July 30 to August 5

In view of the upcoming Annual Saptah of Shree Lord Damodar at Vasco, the Vasco Traffic Police have issued an official press note announcing major traffic diversions and parking arrangements in the city from July 30 to August 5.

According to a press release issued by the Traffic Cell Vasco, the Swatantrapath Road will remain closed to all types of vehicular traffic from St Andrew’s Church Junction to IOC Junction starting 1 pm on July 30 until August 5.

Likewise, Fr Joseph Vaz Road from Leena Hotel–Bombay Auto Parts to the Old Electricity Office near Vasco Court will be barricaded and closed to vehicular movement.

Traffic coming to and from Vasco/Mormugao will be diverted via F L Gomes Road at St Andrew’s Church Junction. Parking on the stretch from New KTC Bus Stand to St Andrew’s Church will be prohibited. Designated parking spaces will be available near Taniya Hotel, Tilak Maidan, KTC Bus Stand Vasco, and along the internal road leading to MPT Gate No. 09 from IOC Junction.

There will be no movement of heavy vehicles from July 30 to 31 for 24 hours, and again from August 1 to 5 between 7 am to 11 pm daily.

Additional parking arrangements for four-wheelers and two-wheelers will be provided at the open ground near Taniya Hotel, with general parking facilities extended across Vasco city.

Vehicular traffic from Chicalim and Mangor side towards Vasco will be compulsorily diverted via the Up Ramp Exit near Maharaja Hotel/HPCL Gate Junction on F L Gomes Road to exit the city through NH 566, ensuring smooth flow towards Varunapuri, Verna, Margao, and Panaji, and to help avoid congestion on NH 366.

The police have appealed to the public to cooperate with traffic personnel during the festive period to ensure smooth traffic management.
