Traffic restrictions for IRONMAN 70.3 Goa on October 27

As preparations ramp up for the IRONMAN 70.3 Goa, local authorities have announced traffic restrictions for Sunday, 27th October 2024, to ensure the safety and smooth operation of the event.

Road Closures and Diversions

NH 66 Lane Closure: One lane of NH 66 will be temporarily closed from the New Fly Over Bridge Cortalim (near the Down Ramp) to the end of the bridge (near the Sharayu Toyota Showroom) from 03:00 to 14:00. This closure aims to minimise inconvenience, with the opposite lane remaining open for traffic during this period.

Traffic Diversion from Panaji to Margao: Vehicles travelling from Panaji towards Margao will be diverted through the New Fly Over Bridge Cortalim along the road leading to Margao, up to the Kesarwal Motels Junction.

Diversion for Traffic from Margao: Traffic heading from Margao towards Panaji will be redirected near the Sharayu Toyota Showroom Cortalim.

These vehicles will take the Santrant Slope, Cortalim Cross, and Cortalim Circle, leading to the Up Ramp Cortalim.

Heavy Vehicle Restrictions: All heavy vehicles, except those transporting essential goods and route buses, will be diverted from Titan Junction Verna towards Verna Industrial Estate and Borim until the event concludes.

VASCOCortalim MLA Anton Vas on Friday launched the long-awaited project of laying a new 900 mm diameter water pipeline at Sancoale to improve water supply issues in the Cortalim constituency.Speaking to reporters in the presence of ward panch Nidhi Naik and PWD officials, Vas said the project has been taken at a cost of Rs 30 crore and would be completed by May."This is a very important project for the Cortalim constituency and also for the entire Mormugao Taluka in general.…
