Training for domestic workers
PANAJI: Goa Domestic and Migrant Forum is organizing a 2-day training camp for the formation of leaders of domestic workers from different areas of Goa. The camp will be held from 9 am of February 27 to 4.30 pm of February 28.
This is to help them to form a union which will help them to regulate the conditions enacted to ensure respect, dignity and the rights of domestic workers in Goa. The formation of a union will also allow them to demand from the government legislation for domestic workers as in the case of Dock Workers Act 1948, Beedi and Cigar Workers Act 1966, The Maharashtra Mathadi Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act 1969, and Building and other Construction Workers Act 1996.
