Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai on Sunday lamented the erosion of Goemkarponn as he launched a sharp indictment of the government's failure to stand by the tribal community.

Addressing the Tribal Lok-Utsav at Sao Jose de Areal, Sardesai recalled his childhood memories of a Goa where culture thrived and every Goemkar had a place in their own state.

Warning that the younger generation has begun to forget its roots, he stressed that festivals like the Tribal Lok-Utsav are not mere celebrations but essential calendar events to keep Goan identity alive.

"The government has abandoned our tribal brothers and sisters. Our youth don't remember their culture. Goemkarponn is fading. Enough is enough," Sardesai said.

Calling for unity through festivals and community gatherings, Sardesai asserted that only a united Goa can demand its rights. In a sharp political message, Sardesai declared that Goa now needs a government rooted in Goemkarponn, a government that truly belongs to the people of this soil and will stand by every son and daughter of Goa.

"Let's keep Goemkarponn alive. Let's bring our own government. And let's do it together," he concluded.

The event saw a large gathering of tribal community members, who resonated with Sardesai's call for cultural preservation and political change.
