A tipper truck toppled at Tambosem-Pernem in the wee hours of Thursday and crushed a stationary car while partially damaging another stationary car. The truck driver escaped unhurt in the mishap.
According to police reports, the incident took place at about 3.30 am, when the truck (GA-09-U-0395) was proceeding towards Sawantwadi. The truck skidded off the highway due to rains and fell on an internal road near a house, where it crushed a stationary Maruti van and also partially damaged another stationary Maruti car.
Pernem Head constable Gurudas Dessai conducted panchanama and investigations are in progress.
