PANAJI
The Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) is seemingly handing over its leadership to younger, GenX entrepreneurs with three of the industry’s body’s top posts won by Goan second-generation hospitality players.
Jack Sukhija will be the next president of the TTAG as his was the only nomination received for the top post.
Similarly Akash Madgavkar is elected as Vice-President (North Goa) and Vinay Albuquerque as Vice President (South Goa).
Sukhija operates Panjim Inn, the heritage hotel located at Panaji’s latin quarter Fontainhas and other homesteads in Goa’s hinterland Sattari.
Madgavkar operates the river cruises and other business of the famed salvagers Madgavkars while Albuquerque is part of the Alcon-Victor group and is involved in managing some of the group’s hospitality operations.
TTAG’s current president, Nilesh Shah said the body’s annual general meeting is to be held soon but the Sukhija-Madgavkar-Albuquerque trio have already been elected to the top three posts as theirs was the only nomination received.
