Two arrested for assaulting aunt
SALIGAO: Porvorim police have arrested Gautam Digamber Prabhu and Rishekesh Digamber Prabhu on charges of assaulting their 78-year-old aunt residing at Nova Cidade Complex in Porvorim.
Vatssala Datta Parker had filed a complaint with Porvorim Police station stating that her nephews, Gautam and Rishikesh, who reside in the same house had assaulted her and had thrown her on the floor on July 5, whereby she sustained injuries in the assault and is undergoing treatment at GMC hospital at Bambolim.
She claimed that the incident took place without any reason.
Following preliminary investigation, Porvorim police registered an offence under Section 325 read with 34 of IPC and arrested both accused on Thursday. Head Constable Datta Sawant is investigating the case under the supervision of Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi.
