The Anjuna Police have registered an offence against two residents of Pomburpa for allegedly assaulting a 77-year-old man and his son during a dispute over property and the cleaning of shrubs at Palmar, Pomburpa.
According to the complaint filed by Rajesh Prabhakar Halankar of Palmar, the incident occurred on August 6.
The accused, Arvind Giri Halankar and Akshay Arvind Halankar, both residents of Palmar and neighbours of the complainant, allegedly confronted his father, Prabhakar Namdev Halankar, while he was carrying out cleaning of shrubs.
Police said that the accused, allegedly acting with common intention, assaulted the elderly man with a wooden danda.
They also allegedly assaulted Rajesh Halankar with slaps and fist blows.
As a result of the assault, Rajesh sustained simple injuries, while his father suffered a fracture to his right hand.
The complaint was lodged on August 12. Police have registered an offence under Sections 115(2), 118(2) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is ongoing.
