The Crime Branch (CB) sleuths on Wednesday arrested two Uganda nationals for residing in India without valid travel documents. The duo identified as Catherine Nakawuka, 38, and Natukunda Suzan Naluyima, 26, were traced near a car parking lot in Arambol during a drive against illegal stay of foreigners in the State.

Details provided by the CB reveal that the women were found without their passports, visas or any other travel documents, which contravened the provision of the Foreigners Order 1948, Foreigners Act 1946, Passport Entry into India Rule 1950 and Passport Entry Act 1920. “They are placed under arrest and the Supreme Court guidelines have been observed. The intimation about the arrest has been given to the Uganda consulate through FRRO Panaji,” PRO Rahul Gupta said. The Court has remanded the accused to 10 days of judicial custody.
