Unauthorised bus stops and conductors calling out to passengers have once again become a problem at the Aquem bus stop, troubling both residents and motorists. Over two months ago, the RTO enforcement team had taken action against bus owners after a fight broke out among drivers at the same spot. But now, the situation has gone back to how it was.
On Friday, at least three buses were seen parked at the junction, even though buses are only allowed to briefly stop to pick up or drop passengers. Conductors were also seen calling out to people after stopping for long periods. Local residents have asked the authorities to take strict action against the bus operators. They say these unauthorised stops are causing traffic jams near the St Sebastian Church junction.
