Work on the underground cable infrastructure development work got underway with the foundation stone for the project being laid at Ponda, Curti and Bandora on Thursday.
Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik laid the foundation stone the underground cabling project at Ponda in the presence of former MP Narendra Sawaikar, Ponda Municipal Council Chairperson Ritesh Naik, ZP member Priya Chari, Curti-Khandepar Sarpanch Naved Tahasildar, councillor Shantaram Kolvekar, Gitali Talaulikar, Chief Electrical Engineer Stephen Fernandes
and others.
In his address, Ravi Naik said the BJP government has succeeded in taking the nation on the path of growth and development.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant have initiated various schemes for the public. To strengthen Modi’s governance, let us vote for both the BJP candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” he appealed.
At another function, ZP member Ganapat Naik laid the foundation stone for the underground cabling project in Bandora in the presence of Sarpanch Sukhanand Kurpaskar, Deputy Sarpanch Chitra Phadte and others.
Lauding Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar’s previous tenure as PWD minister, Ganpat Naik hoped that in the next one year, the electricity department under Dhavalikar’s leadership would witness similar success stories.
“People in Bandora have suffered power issues during monsoons and this will be resolved with the laying of underground cables,” said Naik.
Chief Electrical Engineer Stephen Fernandes, Sarpanch Sukhanand Kurpaskar and Keshav Gaude also spoke on the occasion.
