A 46-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was found dead at Agonda on Tuesday morning.
According to Canacona police, an unknown caller informed police that a male person was found lying in a rented room at Agonda.
Police visited the site and confirmed the identity of the deceased as Sunil Kumar Patel (46) of Uttar Pradesh. The room owner revealed that deceased was an electrician by profession and had arrived in the State on November 3 to work at a restaurant belonging to the house owner at Dumane-Agonda.
Police conducted the inquest panchnama and sent the body to the South Goa District Hospital, Margao for medico-legal formalities. Canacona police registered a case of unnatural death and Canacona PSI Babu Dessai is investigating the case.
