After a series of fatal accidents on the accident-prone Paddi section of NH66, the Aam Aadmi Party has called for urgent safety measures on the highway, warning of mass protests if action is not taken.
The Paddi area has become known for frequent accidents, many of which have claimed the lives of young people.
Concerned about the situation, AAP Goa ST Wing Vice President Vinay Velip and party workers visited the site. Velip pointed out a sharp and dangerous bend in the road and questioned the government’s failure to act.
“Since April, accidents have continued to happen here, causing the deaths of many innocent people. The main reason is the sharp curve and narrow road,” said Velip. He stressed the need to widen the road, install protective barriers, put up clear signboards, and set up a proper traffic signal system to stop more accidents.
He added, “Don’t wait for another life to be lost. Areas like Paddi must be made safe without delay.”
Party workers warned that if action is not taken soon, they will start a mass agitation. AAP leaders said this is not just a political issue but a serious matter of public safety. They urged the authorities to act quickly and take steps to protect the lives of local people.
