In what seems a boost to the police response network, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that the average response time by the Goa Police has dropped to 11 minutes and 22 seconds as of July.
Speaking after flagging off five new Police Control Room (PCR) vans under the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112) -- inducted into the present fleet to strengthen public safety and speed up emergency services-- the CM further announced 14 new Pink Force vehicles in the next phase.
“These new vehicles will strengthen faster, safer and more reliable police services to the people,” Sawant said. The new PCR vans will be deployed for patrolling in the jurisdiction of Mandrem, Mopa, Valpoi, Cuncolim and Canacona police stations.
“We will also have 14 ‘Pink Force’ vehicles in the next phase of the plan, which will add to the existing fleet under this scheme. These reforms are not symbolic, but they are functional and measurable. We are building a modern police response system backed by technology and speed,” Sawant added.
