Usgaon-Ganje road turns into death trap after rains

LAYING OF AN AQUEDUCT FOR LAST ONE YEAR HAS LED TO THIS CONDITION

Usgaon-Ganje road turns into death trap after rains

VALPOI
The advent of the rains and the continuous showers for the last four days have left the under-construction Usgaon and Ganje road in a precarious condition for commuters.

People travelling on this road have demanded with the MLA of this area and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to complete the work on an urgent basis and save them from danger.

One of the main reasons why this road is in such condition is the Irrigation Department has been constructing a dam at Ganje for about a year at a cost of Rs 100 crore. This work is currently in the final stages.

The work of laying a large aqueduct has been going on for the last one year. For this, the road has been dug between Usgaon and Ganje. Excavation of this road has been going on for the last four months. About half of the road is being used for this aqueduct.

However, the road, which has become a death trap, has not been repaired yet.

Due to the rains, the road has become muddy and slippery at places. The road poses a danger, especially for two-wheeler riders.  Many two-wheelers have been involved in accidents in the last four days.

Currently, it is difficult to complete the road work because of the rains. It is possible to lay the rubbles on the road but it will not be possible to pave it. People are agitated and have been demanding answers for the delay in completing the road. Government employees and other office goers take this road.
