PANAJI
Alleging that local MLA Babush Monserrate has failed to address the waterlogging issue in Panaji, Utpal Parrikar has demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant intervene and put things in order.
“Many areas are getting flooded in Panaji and the local representative has totally failed to address the problem,” said Parrikar.
“Rather, he is more interested in the real estate business than the welfare of Panaji City. A total lack of leadership is shown by the local representative and there is no preventive action to prevent flooding and there is no long-term planning,” he said.
“If this continues for the next five years, Panaji city will no longer remain the Capital City,” warned Parrikar.
Parrikar said the chief minister should intervene to ensure that waterlogging does not occur in the next monsoon.
Commenting on the bad quality of roads, Parrikar said: “What quality can we expect for roads which were tarred just before the elections? The CM should take the initiative and ensure that roads are repaired properly,” Parrikar added.
