Anjuna Police on Monday informed that the analysis of the blood sample of the driver, who allegedly drove his SUV recklessly killing the resort owner in Vagator last month, showed that there were no traces of narcotic substance in his blood.
Earlier, the blood alcohol test of the driver had also come negative indicating that he was not drunk when the accident happened.
“The blood sample results will not affect the case in any way. If at all there were traces of alcohol or narcotics in the blood, then we would have added additional sections against the accused. We will soon file a chargesheet in the case,” a senior officer investigating the case informed.
Meanwhile, the driver who is booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder is in judicial custody at the central jail in Colvale.
Sources informed that the accused driver has reportedly moved for bail which is pending for orders before the Sessions court.
It may be recalled, the accused driver Sachin Venu Gopal Kurup (42) was arrested on the eve of Diwali, for driving his SUV in a reckless and dangerous manner into the premises of La Maior Roma resort by Jolly Jolly Lester, Vagator which resulted in the death of the resort owner, Remedia Mary Albuquerque, and injuring two other staff of the resort.
The accused had reportedly gone to the resort to meet his friend.
