Valpoi by-poll: Cong sings unity tune against Vishwajit

Congress Legislative Party on Tuesday resolved to put up a united front at the Valpoi by-polls with all 16 MLAs, including former chief minister and Poriem MLA Pratapsing Raoji Rane, agreeing to shoulder the election campaign in Valpoi to oust Vishwajit Rane.

Sources within the Congress party, however, disclosed that there is a tacit understanding within the Congress not to pressurize Pratapsing to campaign against Vishwajit. “The Congress is not in favour of a family feud because of party affiliations,” the source added. The entire campaign will be made public by the end of this month or by the first half of the next month.
