Valpoi Govt HSS building repair work begins
Repair work begins at the Government Higher Secondary School building in Valpoi.

VALPOI

Repair work at the Valpoi Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) building has finally been taken up, much to the relief of staff, parents and students.
Sources at the PWD said the roof work has been taken up and will be completed in the next two months.
According to sources, the roof had been damaged and this had caused leakage during the monsoon, causing the walls and flooring to get wet. This had made it difficult for classes to be conducted in the premises.
A proposal to repair the building had been submitted to authorities, but it was stalled for two years.
The PTA sought the intervention of the Health Minister and local MLA Vishwajit Rane, and the repair work was finally approved.
PWD sources said toilets and windows of the higher secondary school will also be repaired.
When contacted, HSS Principal Riaz Jamadar expressed happiness with the start of the repair work.
“After the repair is completed, there will not be any further leakage,” he said.
PTA Chairman Santosh Gaonkar thanked the minister for intervening in the matter and ensuring that the repair work could begin.
