Customers confronted the officials of Valpoi post office on Friday over lack of amenities, which has caused inconvenience to the people since the last two months.

It may be recalled that services at Valpoi post office have been severely hampered since the last two months. Customers had expressed anger over lack of amenities and breakdown in internet communications at Valpoi post office.
On Friday morning, the aggrieved customers confronted the post office officials and sought to know the reasons for inconvenience caused and lack of various facilities.
Speaking to The Goan, a customer Rama Sawant from Koparde said for the last two mo
nths, he visited the post office more than 10 times to get his work done, but it could not be done as there was no internet connectivity. "The officials tell that work cannot be done as there is no internet connectivity and less staff," he added.
Another customer, Santosh Naik expressed anger over the inconvenience caused at the post office for the last couple of months. "Hundreds of customers are linked to this post office for last many years. The building is also in dilapidated condition and it requires urgent attention," he added.
When contacted, an officer at Valpoi post office said the higher authorities have already been informed about the matter, but nothing has happened.
"There is less staff at the post office for last many years," admitted the official.
