Vapoi Shigmo floats winners
VALPOI: The Cumbharjua Nagrik Samiti won the first place at the State-level Shigmotsav floats competition in Valpoi.
The Shigmotsav Samiti (Sattari) conducted the Shigmotsav 'Sattari Lokutsao-2016' for three days. Various competitions were organised at the taluka and State level during the three days.
Chairman of Shigmotsav Samiti Pratapsingh Rane and Valpoi MLA Vishwajeet Rane, ZP members Premnath Hazare, Fati Gaonkar, Saraswati Wadkar and Valpoi Municipal Council Chairperson Ramdas Shirodkar handed over the prizes.
In the State-level floats competition, the prize winners were Cumbharjua Nagrik Samiti (first) and Triveni Kala Sangh, Ponda (second), while Bhavani Kundaim, Adpai Yuvak Sangh and Gajajnan Yuvak Mandal, Margao, won third, fourth and fifth prizes respectively. Ten consolation prizes were also awarded.
In the taluka-level float competition, Champs of Valpoi bagged the first place, while Valpoi Nagrik Samiti and Om Nama Shiva, Valpoi, won the second and third prizes respectively. Three consolation prizes were also given.
In the taluka-level Romtamel competition Sattari Mhadeo Romtamel, Paikul, won the first place, while Velgue Shigmoutsao Mandal Velgue bagged the second prize.
