The Colva police is investigating all angles to ascertain the motive behind the cold-blooded murder of 80-year-old Trinidade Martins at Varca.
No arrests have been made by the police till date, with the cops completing the panchanama and other formalities in the case.
The post-mortem report showed that the deceased had around 5-8 injuries on his body caused by an iron rod, including the blow on his head, which is believed to have proved fatal.
Colva police station in-charge PI Melson Colaco informed that the police is investigating all possible angles to unravel the mystery behind the gruesome murder.
“We have completed the formalities and the focus will be now on the investigation to nab the culprits involved in the murder”, he said.
PI Melson informed that though the police has not affected any arrests so far, they are investigating all angles to unravel the mystery behind the murder.
“We have certain leads with us and we are in the process of investigating into these leads”, he said, adding that “Deceased Trinidade Martins had been staying alone in the house at the time of the incident”.
PI Melson said the body of Martins has been preserved at the mortuary after the post-mortem examination. The police had already attached the iron rod used to kill the senior citizen.
