According to Vasco PSI Nehanada Tavares, the girl had gone missing while playing in her own house on Friday evening.
"Somehow, she lost her way and wandered far away from her house," said PSI Tavares.
However, a good Samaritan found the girl crying and took custody of the child, before alerting the police.
A short while later, many concerned citizens also appealed for help to trace her family by posting her photo on online social media.
The Vasco police dispatched a PCR vehicle with lady police constable to the location.
The police team then enquired with locals and with small help of information from the lost girl child, traced the location of the house.
The frantic parents, who has begun searching for their daughter, were very relieved to reunite with their daughter and after confirming with people in the locality, Vasco police team handed over the lost girl to her parents.
