The Vasco Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court has directed the police to register an FIR within 24 hours on a complaint filed by electricity department executive engineer Kashinath Shetye.
Stating this to reporters in Panaji, Shetye informed that the complaint alleges that certain individuals obstructed electricity department officials from performing their lawful duties at Bogda-Vasco.
The Judicial Magistrate First Class Court had earlier issued notices to the Mormugao Police Inspector and the Superintendent of Police (South), directing them to appear before the court on March 17 at 10 am.
This action followed a petition by executive engineer Shetye, who claimed that the police had failed to register an First Information Report on his initial complaint.
