Vasco MLA felicitates Coast Guard for rescuing stranded crew — Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar along with Coast Guard officials on Thursday.

Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar on Thursday evening felicitated the Coast Guard and felicitated the officials involved in saving 19 lives from a sinking tanker ship ‘MT Parth’ recently.

Salkar visited the Coast Guard District Headquarters at Chicolna on Thursday.

MT Parth had sunk on the morning of September 16, around 42 nautical miles off Ratnagiri while on its way from UAE to New Mangalore port due to flooding in its ballast tanks.

Salkar lauded the effort of Coast Guard and presented letters of appreciation to the officials.

“People must be aware of the great work being done by Coast Guard 24x7. A stronger Coast Guard at Goa will mean safer seas and security,” said Salkar.
