A day after Congress alleged Vedanta Ltd has been undertaking ore export despite pending dues to State government, the mining firm on Tuesday clarified that all operations are performed within the sphere of legal framework governed by the State.
The Congress on Monday alleged that the Mines Department has permitted Vedanta Ltd to export iron ore without paying dues of total Rs 165 cr. The party said that the government is in hand-in-gloves with the mining firm in allowing illegal activities.
In a response to the allegation, Vedanta Ltd in a statement issued said, “we at Vedanta Sesa Goa, diligently adhere to all the statutory requirements, laws, policies and regulations that govern the mining industry and its operations.”
“In line with our commitment towards transparency and compliance, we actively work with all stakeholders to ensure all our operations are performed within the sphere of the legal framework governed by the State,” it added.
