Vegetable prices drop in Belagavi

With the advent of Diwali and arrival of vegetables from the hinterland in big quantity, prices of vegetables in the Belagavi wholesale vegetable market are coming down.

 Prices of onion also remained stable as the supplies of onion continued from Maharashtra and Karnataka. Compared to last week, prices of some vegetables were cheaper. Comparative prices of some of the common vegetables are (last week prices in bracket), tomato - Rs 60-70 (Rs 70-80), brinjal Rs 200 (Rs 250), gavar Rs 320 (Rs 350), lady's finger Rs 180-200 (Rs 320-350), French beans Rs 250-300 (Rs 400-420). Thus according to traders, the trend is expected to continue as vegetables are expected to be cheaper in next few days.
