Passengers of a car had a miraculous escape after it went up in flames in the wee hours of Sunday on the flyover of the National Highway (NH66) at Carrasvaddo, Mapusa.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt but the Ford Figo car was completely gutted in the incident.
A Mapusa Fire Station official informed that a fire brigade rushed to the spot after they received a call at around 5.08 am on Sunday.
“The fire personnel managed to douse the flames but by then the entire car was burnt to ashes,” the official said.
While the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, an electric short circuit in the engine is suspected to be the primary cause.
