Sadly it is not.

By definition, a Smart City implies that the city is equipped with the basic infrastructure to add to a decent standard of living such as public information, grievance & redressal, electronic service delivery, waste and energy composting and recycling, excellent roads, waste water management and treatment, smart electronic meters for electricity and water, renewable energy sources, smart parking etc.

Panjim has none of the above. Garbage is piling up at Campal and the traffic management is poor. Drainage system is tested during the rains leading to flooding and pot holes.

The city lacks the tag of being Smart, rather it can be classified as a large village and work in progress.
