The Verla-Canca panchayat on Monday decided to revoke house numbers issued to some houses and warned the panchayat secretary not to take any decisions without informing the panchayat.
"The panchayat secretary was misled by some people in issuing house numbers which never existed. We have resolved to revoke those house numbers," said Milton Marques, Sarpanch of Verla-Canca.
"We have also warned the secretary not to do anything without taking the panchayat into confidence," he added.
