The Margao police have arrested Maria Luiza Fernandes in connection with the abduction of Sanjeel Kudchadkar, taking the number of accused arrested in the case to three.
Margao Police station in-charge, PI Arun Desai informed that Maria Luiza has been arrested from Karwar and brought to Margao.
The Margao police had earlier arrested two persons in connection with the abduction case. They are presently in custody of the police.
PI Desai said Maria Luiza Fernandes, who is the ex-wife of victim Kudchadkar, has been arrested since she is seen in the CCTV footage taking Kudchadkar in a car.
He said the exact motive behind the abduction is being ascertained.
