The State government on Tuesday said enhanced measures were being undertaken to check lapses in Covid protocols at the Patradevi check-post.
Government swung into action after a video went viral showing a bus from Maharashtra entering the border without any checks on the necessary Covid certificates.
Admitting to lapses at the check-post, North Goa District Collector Ajit Roy said that monitoring has now been tightened at Patradevi.
The Collector has directed compulsory checking of all vehicles specially bus passengers as per the prevailing order.
The officers on duty at the border have also been told to record details of all buses entering the State and number of passengers in the register every day from today, he said.
Thousands of people travelled in over-packed buses during Ganesh Chaturthi leaving the State exposed to the threat of the virus with no proper checks at the borders.
